Railroad Park

We went to the railroad park and had lots of fun! Ryan loved riding on the train, carousel, and enjoyed the playground. She now says "whee" when she goes down the slide. Too cute.

Naughty or Nice?

As you can see in this picture, Ryan was thrilled to see Santa Claus!

Holiday Lights @ Train Park

We went to "Holiday Lights" at the Railroad Park last night. The line for the train was 1 hour (grrr) so we went on the small steamer and rode the carousel a few times instead. Ryan loved looking at the lights and even said"oh,wow" when we went through a lighted tunnel. That was the first time we heard her say that! She had a lot of fun!

Christmas Tree shopping

We went to pick out our Christmas tree this weekend, yay! Ryan has this odd obsession with smelling everything, so of course she had to smell all of the trees to decide which one was best.

Step Out, Step Up: It's a Wrap!

My friend Kim & I volunteered at the mall wrapping presents for charity. It was a lot of fun, even though I'm pretty sure we were the worst gift wrappers in history. For more info and pictures from the event, check out Kim's blog.

Petting Zoo

We have been members of the Phoenix Zoo for over a year and just found out that they have a petting zoo!Ryan was so excited that she actually got to pet the animals this time (she usually tries to scale the fence to jump in the animal exhibits at the zoo). Ryan had a great time and ran after the goats yelling "soft, soft".

Belated Thanksgiving post

With the chaos of the E.R. trip, I forgot to post about Thanksgiving. Steve, Alma & Sydney came out from CA and we had a great Thanksgiving weekend. The girls had a lot of fun playing together and they both loved eating yummy mashed potatoes & creamed corn. I can't find our pictures, but you can check out Sydney's blog for more info & pics. We miss you Erwin's!

Carousel At The Railroad Park

Ryan loving the Carousel at the McCormick Stillman
Railroad Park. That is until the ride ended.

First trip to the E.R.!

Oh, such a long story... The day after Thanksgiving we were all hanging out in the family room when Ryan decided to climb on the back of the kitchen chair. Unfortunately we did not catch her in time and she fell backwards on the tile floor & held onto the chair the whole time. She hit the back of her head on the tile and the chair fell on her face. We knew she needed stitches & rushed to Urgent care. They told us to go to the hospital as she was showing signs of trauma ( throwing up) . Fun. So, we went to the E.R. and waited 30 mins. for their pediatric wing to open. Makes me wonder what happens if your child has an emergency in the middle of the night? After we were seen by the doctor, he had to decide whether to do an x-ray or cat scan to see if there was further damage. They informed us that if they did the cat scan Ryan would have to have an iv and would be taped down to the table. They asked us if they did all that to her if we thought she would lay still or fight. I laughed really hard. Everyone decided it would be best to just do the x-ray since it would be less traumatic. They still had to restrain her, which was traumatic for her & Jason and I. Luckily there were no signs of trauma so they put liquid bandage over her eyebrow and we were sent home. All in all the whole ordeal took 4 hours. Did i mention that we hate hospitals? Ryan is doing much better now and is feeling great. And she has a prominent future in cage fighting.

Do you like my ears?

Ryan the red nosed reindeer loves playing dress-up these days and she is obsessed with her reindeer ears. She puts them on all the time and we sing Christmas Carols.

Cold Stone!

Ryan had her first official ice cream cone this weekend & enjoyed every lick of it! We went to cold stone and she demolished a love it sized strawberry banana ice cream. (strawberries & bananas make it healthy, right?) She even figured out to bite the cone when the ice cream was too low to reach. She freaked out when we took it away at the end, but overall it was wonderful.

Children's Museum of Phoenix

We love the Children's museum! We have annual passes and it is definitely Ryan's favorite place to go& play! There are play kitchens, towns, tunnels, art rooms, and more! Every time we go we find new things to explore.

Trick or Treat!

Ryan was Elmo for Halloween ( which is apparently a boy costume because every house we went to commented on our "little boy") She was not a fan of going up to the houses and clung to our legs. She did enjoy running around the street in between houses. Then she ate an entire fun size kit kat, which you can see in the lovely picture. She proceeded to scream & point at the treat bag for the rest of the evening, wanting more. She must take after her mommy :)

Pumpkin Carving

Ryan enjoyed helping Daddy carve a pumpkin for Halloween.

Pumpkin Patch!

Ryan was a wee little baby last year at the pumpkin patch, so it was a much different experience this year! She and Mattie loved running around, chasing goats, petting animals, riding the train, and picking out pumpkins. The pumpkin patch is so much fun!

Park & Mall

The girls also had a great time playing at the play land in the mall and then outside at the park as it finally cooled down outside. Yay for Arizona Fall & Winter seasons!
